As a leading interpreter of the early and mid-20th century repertoire, Olga is renowned for her critically acclaimed and thought-provoking programmes that explore a wide range of cross-disciplinary knowledge from history to astrophysics. In Tokyo, Olga will present a programme that explores the cultural cross-pollination between Eastern and Western classical traditions viewed through the lens of Symbolism, traditional Japanese Gagaku court music and Javanese gamelan.
The programme is based on Olga's latest all-Debussy album ‘And the Moon Descends’ and will include rarely performed pieces by Debussy, Scriabin, Galina Gorelova from Olga’s native Belarus and Paul Hayes, an Irish-born, Tokyo-based composer whose piece 'Echo’s Fleeting Fantasia on Joy Island' will have its world premiere at the concert.
